The Hungarian Civic Force (Magyar Polgári Erő, MPE) as the spiritual successor of the Hungarian Civic Party (Magyar Polgári Párt, MPP) is a political organisation representing Christian civic values. It is seated in Satu Mare county in Romania and has 800 members. MPE is organised on the basis of administrative-territorial division and within its internal structure, there are three levels of organisation (local, county and national).

The aim of MPE is to enforce national interests through political means, which include the preservation of the Hungarian identity, the consistent representation and achievement of various forms of autonomy at all times, ensuring the free use of their symbols and mother tongue, the protection and recovery of the intellectual and built heritage of their national community, the protection of their children, strengthening their sense of identity, their safety and guaranteeing their education in the mother tongue, as well as creating opportunities for their communities to develop and preserve traditions.

In the interest of the protection, development, affirmation and prosperity of the Hungarian community in Romania in its native land, of the cultivation of its language, culture and values, of its economic, social and cultural development, in the interest of the preservation and development of education in its mother tongue, of its traditions and culture, MPE collaborates with the historical Hungarian churches, the coordinating bodies, unions of Hungarian cultural organisations, as well as Hungarian educational, scientific, women’s, youth, professional and civic organisations in Romania.

MPE was established for the purpose of defending, publicly representing, developing and coordinating the interests of the Hungarian community and which, in the interest of defending, preserving and developing the national identity, achieving equal and social opportunities and remaining in the homeland, promotes the self-organisation of the community, improving material and spiritual living conditions, carrying out its activity under the banner of democracy and pluralism.

MPE is a member of FUEN since 2024.
