The Central Council of Yenish in Germany has been a registered association since 2019 and is listed in the register of associations at Memmingen Local Court. The association is based in Ichenhausen.
The objectives of the association are: to promote recognition as a national minority; to promote and protect Yenish culture and language; to promote and protect traditional Yenish professions and trades; to combat discrimination, exclusion and social injustice; to promote and protect the Yenish way of life and traditions; to promote assistance for those persecuted on political, racial or religious grounds; the promotion of international sentiment, tolerance in all areas of culture and international understanding; the promotion of civic involvement in favour of charitable causes; the promotion of art and culture; and the promotion of education, popular and vocational training.
The association fulfils these purposes by organising, co-organising and supporting information and cultural events as well as seminars and conferences; exchanging information with other minority organisations; producing publications on these activities, maintaining and teaching the Yenish language to young people and adults. The association is non-denominational and non-partisan.
The Central Council of Yenish in Germany is a member of FUEN since 2025.
