FUEN President Hans Heinrich Hansen: Non-allowance of a Turkish presentation at an academic conference reaffirms that Greece is still far away from respecting fundamental human and minority rights of the officially recognized Turkish minority within its territories
“We did not take things lightly; we made a very careful assessment. We came to the conclusion that the decision of the European Commission is not correct, neither on formal reasons, nor in respect to the substance of our proposals”, says FUEN President Hans Heinrich Hansen, the chairman of the citizens’ committee.

He agreed to explain, in the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the reasons of the Commission why the Citizens’ Initiative “Minority SafePack Initiative” cannot start collecting signatures.
The FUEN president had the honour of giving the “dinner speech” to the German delegation at the Committee of the Regions and used this opportunity to explain his dissatisfaction with the rejection of the Citizens’ Initiative “Minority SafePack Initiative” by the European Commission.
