FUEN’s Working Group of Hungarian Communities holds its first working meeting in Slovenia
22.02.2024On 23-24 February, the Working Group of Hungarian Communities (MKM) of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) will hold its first annual meeting in Lendava*Lendva, Slovenia. The Hungarian members of the international umbrella organisation of minorities – the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ), the Cultural Alliance of Hungarians in Sub-Carpathia (KMKSZ), the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Croatia (HMDK), the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (VMSZ), the Hungarian Alliance in Slovakia and the Hungarian Self-Governing National Community of Pomurje (MMÖNK) - decided to set up the working group at the FUEN Congress in Pécs*Fünfkirchen*Pecuh last year. The working group is led by László Brenzovics, President of the KMKSZ.
Among the topics of the working meeting are the challenges of the EP elections in June 2024, the opportunities of the Hungarian EU Presidency and the definition of the objectives and activities of the working group. The programme will also include a visit to Hungary's Consulate General in Lendava and the Domonkosfa country house.
The first working meeting of the MKM will be hosted by the Hungarian Self-Governing National Community of Pomurje (MMÖNK).
