FUEN congratulates the new German Commissioner for Minorities Natalie Pawlik

Germany has a new Commissioner for Minorities: Natalie Pawlik (SPD), member of the Bundestag, was appointed today as the new Federal Government Commissioner for Repatriates and National Minorities. She replaces Dr Bernd Fabritius, who had held the office since 2018.

Natalie Pavlik was born in Vostok, Russia, in 1992. At the age of six, she came to Germany with her family as a late repatriate, where she lived in a home for repatriates in Bad Nauheim. In September 2021, she became a member of the Bundestag for the SPD.

The FUEN congratulates Natalie Pawlik on her new task and looks forward to a good cooperation.

Background: The office of the Federal Government Commissioner for Repatriate Affairs was established in 1988 and attached to the Federal Ministry of the Interior. In 2002, the office was supplemented by the commission for national minorities.
