FUEN present at the Open Days of the German Government in Berlin
24.08.2016This year the motto of the Open Days of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior is “Social Cohesion – Flight, Migration and Integration”. On Saturday 27 August and Sunday 28 August, both days from 10:00 till 18:00 hr, everyone can visit the German ministries and look behind the scenes inside the premises of the German government.
Also the Working Group of German Minorities inside FUEN (AGDM) has a stand here. This year the youth dance group “Lenschczoh” from Upper Silesia in Poland will present the culture of the Germans from Upper Silesia. Their programme will be shown on the stage on Sunday 28 August at 15:00 hr.
The presentation of the national minorities takes place in cooperation with the German Federal Government Commissioner for Ethnic German Resettlers and National Minorities, Mr Hartmut Koschyk MP and will also show the good cooperatiopn between the minorities in Germany and the German minorities in Central- and Eastern Europe and the CIS-states. Joint actions, interesting brochures and information flyers, as well as traditional costumes and cultural contributions show the diversity of the minorities.
A quiz points at the most important or most interesting questions related to the national minorities, and folk dance groups fill the programme on stage. The highlight, however, is the presentation of the EUROPEADA, the European football championship of the autochthonous, national minorities, which was organised by the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) in South Tyrol in June 2016. Both adult visitors and children can solve a funny little task.
Please visit us, we look forward to every visitor.
