FUEN TAG Speaker Habip Oğlu met with Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Omuraliev
06.02.2024The Speaker of the Working Group of Turkic Minorities/Communities in FUEN (TAG), Halit Habip Oğlu met with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev in his office on 2 February 2024.
During the meeting held at the OTS Headquarters in Fatih, Istanbul, Habip Oğlu introduced TAG, which was established in 2013 at his initiative while he was serving as Vice-President of FUEN, the largest umbrella organisation of autochthonous, national minorities in Europe. Providing information about TAG’s work and activities, Habip Oğlu noted that TAG brings together Turkic minorities and communities living in a wide geography from the Balkans to the Caucasus under its roof.
Explaining that organisations representing Turkic minorities and communities that are TAG members meet at TAG annual meetings held in a different country every year, Habip Oğlu indicated that TAG supports the voices of Turkic minorities and communities whose issues are in urgent need to be heard before international organisations.
During the meeting, cooperation issues between TAG and OTS and TAG’s participation in OTS events were discussed.
