Election results in Romania: the minorities in Romania have strong local representation
07.06.2016The RMDSZ has kept its weight in the Romanian political landscape; it secured 196 mayors across Transylvania. Other 7 mayors won as independent or coalition candidates supported by the RMDSZ.
Three county capitals: Szatmárnémeti/Satu-Mare, Csíkszereda/Miercurea Ciuc and Sepsiszentgyörgy/Sfântu Gheorghe have mayors from RMDSZ.
Our supporting member, the Hungarian Civic Party MPP now has 15 mayors in Transylvania also thanks to cooperating with the RMDSZ.
The Democratic Forum of Germans from Romania has won at least 5 mayorships including Hermanstadt/Sibiu.
FUEN President Loránt Vincze congratulates the FUEN member organizations, the elected mayors and councillors and wishes them to serve their local communities with great success!
