In a congratulation letter, Loránt Vincze, President of FUEN, stated that the umbrella organization of the autochthonous national minorities and language groups living in Europe has received the news with optimism and hope.
“The role of the CoR is essential to promote dialogue and cooperation between Member States, regional and local authorities and the European minorities. The autochthonous minorities of Europe live in well-defined areas, in regions with particular historical, linguistic and cultural aspects. The EU needs to address their protection. This is why FUEN aims to create a forum of minority regions.” - stated Mr. Vincze, adding: the organization has already started the online petition campaign for the Minority SafePack and they rely very much on the strength of the regions to collect the 1 million signatures.
FUEN is looking forward to a continuously fruitful collaboration with the CoR led by Mr. Lambertz in the next period.
