Museum Ladin will organise a meeting of museums, with the support of FUEN
12.04.2016The EUROPEADA, the European football championship of the autochthonous national minorities, is an excellent chance to bring together the European minorities and to create networks. The Museum Ladin will use the opportunity to organise a meeting of European museums.
On the occasion of the South Tyrolean Museum Day (21 March 2016), the director of the Museum, Mr Stefan Plankers presented his idea: “The Museum Ladin will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year. We are looking forward to be the host. We expect that museums of minorities from many different countries will come. The President of the International Museum Association will open the meeting. And one day before the Museum Ladin will be the host of the Culture Day of the European football championship.”
FUEN supports the initiative. Already during the EUROPEADA 2012 in Lusatia (Germany) a European networking event of European minority theatres was part of the programme.
“Networking among minorities in different areas is what we are good at. We are glad that after the initiative of the theatres in 2012, we now will succeed in bringing different museums together. Museums are important pillars for the identity of minorities. We think it will be interesting to experience which different concepts are used to present the history, traditions and cultural heritage in ways that not only forms of preservation, but that also make it possible to experience this rich heritage”, said Susann Schenk, Secretary-General of FUEN.
The meeting will be open to the public. If you are interested, please register through the Museum Ladin. The meeting will take place in German and in Italian.
