Hungarian Diaspora Council expresses support for the Minority SafePack Initiative
12.11.2017„The success of the Minority SafePack Initiative is a success for every autochthonous national minority in Europe. The legislative provisions included in this framework would greatly help every Hungarian community living outside of the country’s borders”, stated FUEN President Vincze Loránt on Thursday, at the Hungarian Diaspora Council meeting in Budapest, where the organisation adopted a closing statement in support for the Minority SafePack Initiative.
The FUEN President pointed out that Budapest has expressed solidarity with the Hungarian minority communities living outside of Hungary, just as Germany supports the initiative that will grant protection for German speaking communities in Europe. Vincze Loránt presented the Minority SafePack Initiative and asked the representatives of the council to join the petition campaign and help spread the news about the initiative in minority communities, towards majority communities, and to other diaspora organisations.
