Brussels and Târgu Mures / Marosvásárhely – FUEN in action for the minorities in Europe
11.09.2013Our proposal lies on the table. We developed our “MINORITY SAFEPACK INITIATIVE” with the support of many renowned experts. Our strong citizens’ committee (Hans Heinrich Hansen, Kelemen Hunor, Jannewietske de Vries, Anke Spoorendonk, Valentin Inzko, Luis Durnwalder, Karl-Heinz Lambertz) submitted the proposals. We want to work together with the European Commission, the European Parliament and all the Member States on the improvement of the situation of the minorities and on safeguarding cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe.
Just as a reminder.
At the moment the FUEN Presidium is in Târgu Mureș / Marosvásárhely, Transylvania, Romania. Our member organisation the Democratic Alliance of the Hungarians in Romania organises a conference on the situation of the minorities in Romania. There are 18 minorities that are recognised in Romania. There are many challenges, and not only for the Hungarian minority.

We very much congratulate our West-Frisian friends from Leeuwarden / Ljouwert! It was a wise and right decision to appoint Ljouwert as the European Capital of Culture 2018.
