Turkic minorities and communities will gather in Varna, Bulgaria
29.04.2025What is daily life like for Turks in Bulgaria? What challenges do they face? What difficulties do they encounter, and what achievements do they take pride in? The answers to these questions will be explored at the 11th Annual Meeting of the Working Group of Turkic Minorities/Communities in FUEN (TAG), taking place in Varna, Bulgaria, from 29 May to 1 June 2025.
Hosted by the Bulgarian Turks, the meeting will bring together Turkic minorities and communities from 10 different European countries.
The meeting programme includes presentations and cultural performances showcasing the traditions and customs of the Bulgarian Turks, a guided tour of Varna, and visits to Turkish villages and institutions and organisations of the Bulgarian Turks.
At the roundtable discussion on 31 May, participants will have the opportunity to share important developments from the past year regarding the Turkic minority and communities they represent, as well as the activities of the organisations they represent. The 2025-2026 activity plan of FUEN TAG will also be discussed at the meeting, and a joint roadmap will be determined.
You can follow the meeting’s proceedings on TAG’s social media channels (facebook.com/fuentag; x.com/FUEN_TAG).
