
FUEN TAG Spokesperson Habip Oğlu met with Ambassador Vaqif Sadıqov, Head of Mission of Azerbaijan to the European Union
23.05.2025Spokesperson of the Working Group on Turkic Minorities and Communities (TAG) of the FUEN, Halit Habip Oğlu, met with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Head of Mission to the European Union Vaqif Sadıqov at his office on Wednesday, 21 May 2025. Habip Oğlu was accompanied by Melek Kırmacı from the FUEN TAG Secretariat.
During the meeting, which took place at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Brussels, Habip Oğlu introduced TAG, which was established in 2013 within FUEN, the largest umbrella organisation for autochthonous and national minorities in Europe.
Habip Oğlu provided information about TAG’s work and activities, noting that TAG brings together Turkic minorities and communities living in a very wide geographical area stretching from the Balkans to the Caucasus.
Habip Oğlu, who introduced Turkic minorities and communities that are members of FUEN, indicated that the Turkic organisations gather at TAG’s annual meetings and that the 2025 annual meeting will be hosted by the Turkish community in Bulgaria in the city of Varna.
