
FUEN TAG Spokesperson paid a working visit to Kosovo
28.08.2025The Spokesperson of the Working Group of Turkic Minorities and Communities (TAG) in the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), Halit Habip Oğlu, paid a working visit to Kosovo on 22 August 2025.
During the working visit hosted by the Kosovo Youth Union Association, which is a FUEN member organisation, Habip Oğlu, accompanied by Melek Kırmacı from the FUEN TAG Secretariat, held meetings with the representatives of the Turks living in Kosovo in the cities of Prizren and Mamusa.
Habip Oğlu met with Celal Doğan, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye, the motherland of the Turks living in Kosovo, in Prizren, Fikrim Damka, President of the Turkish Democratic Party (KDTP) and Minister of Regional Development of Kosovo, Fidan Brina Jılta, Member of the Parliament of Kosovo, Abdulhadi Krasnic, Mayor of Mamusa and Vice President of KDTP and Levent Buş, Vice President of the Municipal Council of Prizren. Habip Oğlu also visited the Doğru Yol Turkish Culture and Arts Association and the Turkish Teachers Association of Kosovo (KTÖD).
Habip Oğlu introduced the FUEN and the TAG, and noted that the FUEN is the largest umbrella organization of the autochthonous national minorities, nationalities and language groups in Europe. Habip Oğlu provided information about the work and activities of TAG which was established in 2013 within the FUEN and stated that the TAG brings together the Turkish minorities and communities living in a large geographical area from the Balkans to the Caucasus. Habip Oğlu said that the Turkish organizations come together at the annual meetings of TAG, adding that the 11th annual meeting in 2025 was hosted by the Bulgarian Turks in Varna.
During the meetings, the FUEN TAG delegation learned about the history, organizational structure, current situation and problems of the Turks in Kosovo, who are one of the state-forming peoples of the country, as well as the activities of the Turkish non-governmental organizations and associations there.
