FUEN Seminar of the Slavic Minorities concluded
31.10.2016On Sunday 30 October, the FUEN Seminar of the Slavic Minorities that this year was organised at the Croat minority in Subotica, Serbia, was concluded.
On Friday, after a guided tour in Subotica, the first part of the seminar took place in the nearby village of Tavankut. The main topics were the political participation of minorities, based on the example of the Croats in Serbia and its region of Vojvodina and the education system of the minorities in Europe.
On Saturday the participants of the seminar visited Novi Sad and its fortifications. Subsequently, the seminar was continued with a discussion on the future actions of the Slavic minorities inside FUEN, like for example the regulation on the functioning of the Working Group, its common actions and its way of documentation. FUEN Vice President Bernhard Ziesch (who was not able to attend) was elected as speaker of the Working Group unanimously.
Furthermore the participants underlined how important it is to further develop a coordination office for the Working Group. This is also one of the most important goals for the near future.
