2025 German federal election: South-Schleswigian Voter’s Association and DIE LINKE (The Left) respond to FUEN’s election checkstones
05.02.2025In the run-up to the election of the 21st German Bundestag on 23 February 2025, FUEN has asked the political parties in Germany to provide statements on key issues related to minority protection. The FUEN election checkstones focus on three dimensions: the autochthonous national minorities and ethnic groups in Germany, the German minorities abroad and minority policy in the European context.
The South-Schleswigian Voter’s Association (SSW) – the party of the Danish minority in the Schleswig region and the national Frisians in North Frisia, currently represented in the German Bundestag by Stefan Seidler – as well as DIE LINKE (The Left) have responded to the questions in our election checkstones.
The other parties contacted (SPD, Alliance 90/The Greens, FDP, CDU, CSU) have stated that due to the shortened timelines in this Bundestag election campaign, they will “only respond to election checkstones from a few pre-agreed associations and organisations that represent the full breadth of the social spectrum”.
The responses from the SSW and DIE LINKE to the FUEN election checkstones can be found below (translated from German). Click on the respective party logos to access them.
