FUEN organisation Ilinden in Albania wants authorities to also issue identity documents in Macadonian
29.08.2017FUEN member organisation Macedonian Association “Ilinden" from Tirana, who works to protect the rights of Macedonians in Albania, submitted a request to Albanian authorities to begin issuing identity documents in Macedonian.
“We submitted a request to Bledar Doracaj, head of the General director for the birth registry to begin issuing international documents that confirm birth, weddings and other documents in Macedonian. Currently these documents are already issued in Greek, Italian, English and German, additionally to Albanian”, said Nikola Gjurgjaj, chair of Ilinden Association.
According to Mr Gjurgjaj, this would help many Albanian citizens avoid extra costs when they need to have their birth and wedding certificates and other documents translated from Albanian into Macedonian.
